Manager, Government Affairs (EU)

Key Responsibilities:
Policy Support: Support the development and implementation of government affairs strategies to advance company goals in the EU.
Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry groups to support the company’s advocacy efforts. This role will also lead in managing priority account escalations and training needs.
Regulatory/Legislative Tracking: Monitor and analyze government initiatives, proposals and regulatory changes, preparing reports and briefings for internal stakeholders.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with legal, compliance, safety, and business teams to ensure consistent policy messaging and alignment with company goals.
Issue Identification: Identify emerging policy risks or opportunities (e.g., Digital Tech/AI regulations and social media policies/regulations),recommend proactive approaches to support action plans and advocacy efforts.
Representation: Represent X Corp at industry forums, workshops, public consultations, and meetings to communicate key policy positions.
Business Growth Support: Support business partners, including Marketing, Sales, Communications and Engineering with critical growth initiatives.
Administrative Support: Manage scheduling, documentation, and follow-ups for government affairs activities, ensuring timely execution of initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related role, with exposure to EU institutions.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with government or regulatory stakeholders.
Strong understanding of Europe's political and regulatory environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
Analytical mindset to assess policy impacts and provide actionable insights.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English required; proficiency in German or Dutch language is a plus.
Experience in industry/sector, e.g., digital tech/AI and social media is a plus but not required.
