Opportunity for Impact

TaxBit is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounting leader to join our Finance team as an Assistant Controller. This is a key role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. The right candidate will bring both technical accounting expertise and a strong operational mindset to help scale financial infrastructure in a high-growth SaaS environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of core accounting processes, build and improve scalable systems, and partner cross-functionally as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, has a strong understanding of US GAAP and SaaS accounting, and is passionate about continuous improvement.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the month-end close and financial reporting with high accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead all aspects of general ledger accounting, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), accruals, and reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Prepare and review internal and external financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between accounting outputs and business needs
  • Manage and coordinate annual financial audits, working closely with external auditors
  • Evaluate and implement accounting systems, automation tools, and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and payroll

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience
  • Public accounting and/or CPA preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and monthly close process
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a lean, high-performing team
  • Excellent execution and planning skills with attention to detail as well as strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Operates with high integrity, discretion, and a sense of ownership
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excel skills and aptitude for financial systems; NetSuite experience a plus
  • Fast-growing SaaS startup experience is a plus

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $135,000-$185,000. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Actual compensation will vary depending on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to location, experience, level, and job qualifications.
