The Orca Climate Fund is a preseed venture capital fund investing in founders looking to make the most ambitious impact towards restoring and preserving earth health from ocean to ozone, right at the very beginning. This is a 3-month, part-time (10-15 hours per week), remote role with the potential to be extended. It is a unique opportunity for a driven individual to gain hands-on experience in assisting us lay the foundations for creating catalytic impact at the earliest stages of an entrepreneur’s journey and engage with the investment team through the full life cycle of the investment process.

Key Responsibilities :

● You will map and build relationships with key stakeholders across different ecosystems.

● You will create your own initiatives to magnetically attract the best founders to you. You will assist and actively participate in managing our deal pipeline, screening, and scouting.

● You will help us conduct in-depth research and identify the best founding teams in the most impactful spaces.

● You will write investment memos and assist the investment team with day-to-day activities

● You will assist team members in ad-hoc projects for portfolio companies

Qualifications

● You are passionate about solving climate change and being a good steward of the environment

● You exhibit a powerful sense of ownership, feel comfortable with autonomy and ambiguity, trust your instincts and thinking process, and are open to adapting your views based on new information

● You possess strong analytical skills and are both exceptional and proactive at expressing your ideas and putting them into action

Preferred Qualifications

● You have a technical background in natural science or engineering

● You have a strong personal network from working closely with founders and/or have built communities around them
