As a Product Security Technical Leader, you will have the opportunities to:

• Architect and deploy security tools, systems, and processes across the product portfolio

• Define security architecture strategy for hardware and embedded systems, including secure boot, hardware root of trust, and cryptographic subsystems

• Provide expert guidance on security practices, balancing risk trade-offs against the evolving threat landscape

• Assess security risks of AI/ML systems and leverage AI-powered tools to enhance security assessments and automation

• Lead threat modeling initiatives across product lines at the product and platform level

• Own incident response to security breaches and establish proactive prevention strategies

• Improve security assessment methodologies and tools to meet compliance standards (EU CRA, ComSec, EC62443, etc)

• Influence architectural decisions across multiple product teams with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability

• Mentor junior security engineers and set security review standards across teams

• Represent Cisco's product security interests with external partners, vendors, and industry groups

You are an ideal candidate if:

• 10+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field

• 7+ years of expertise in hardware security, embedded systems, authentication protocols, PKI, and cryptography

• Track record of architecting security solutions and leading cross-functional initiatives

• Expert understanding of networking protocols, security controls, and common attack vectors

• Experience with source code security assessments and root cause analysis in C/C++, Golang, Rust, and Ruby

• Ability to influence architectural decisions and drive security roadmaps across engineering teams

• Proficiency with debuggers (source-level, JTAG), protocol analyzers, and logic analyzers

• Strong communication skills to articulate complex security problems and advise on secure design

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team capabilities\

Example Projects You May Lead:

• Review and assess security aspects of secure boot architecture across Cisco's networking product line

• Lead cross-functional teams to implement SAST and DAST tooling across multiple business units

• Establish a unified threat modeling program across multiple business units and product teams

• Build and drive multi-quarter technical roadmaps for the product security team

• Design and implement a solution to leverage AI to boost 30% of productivity in security scanning

• Create security training curricula for engineering teams and represent Cisco at industry standards bodies

Bonus points for:

• Experience with IoT platforms, large-scale distributed systems, and/or client-server architectures

• Experience implementing various Defense in Depth strategies to address dynamic threats across software and hardware stacks

• Track record of leading security architecture reviews and establishing security governance frameworks

• Experience employing security controls within embedded build systems

• Active involvement in network security community (conferences, research, open source projects, standards bodies)

• Knowledge of machine learning, data analytics, and other innovative approaches to security

• Published security research or recognized contributions to the security community
